About the Role

Alqotr is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring a safe working environment across our construction sites. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety procedures, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and established safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with health and safety policies and procedures at project sites.
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
• Ensure that all employees and workers properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Identify and assess workplace risks, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive safety reports, inspection records, and related documentation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and propose preventive measures.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for workers.
• Monitor adherence to safe work procedures, including those for working at heights, hot work, excavation, lifting operations, and confined spaces.
• Ensure that work permits are properly issued and followed where required.
• Monitor the availability and condition of fire-fighting equipment and first-aid facilities.
• Follow up on corrective actions resulting from inspections and safety observations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors on all safety matters.
• Support emergency preparedness planning and evacuation drills.
• Report any safety violations or serious hazards to the relevant management immediately.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of previous experience as a Safety Officer, with a preference for experience in construction or contracting companies.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and standards.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.

Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work effectively in dynamic construction site environments within Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Safety Officer will be actively present on project sites to ensure direct oversight of safety protocols and practices.
