About the Role

Libera Consultants is partnering with a leading organization in the energy/industrial sector to recruit an experienced Head of Department for Process Engineering. This full-time position is based in Al Khobar, Eastern region. The role is a strategic leadership opportunity focused on overseeing large-scale projects and driving engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide project and process design engineering activities, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and best practices.
• Oversee engineering reviews, resolve complex technical challenges, and ensure quality and safety compliance across all project deliverables.
• Establish project scope, objectives, and priorities in close coordination with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Drive departmental performance through effective planning, resource management, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Provide expert technical advisory on engineering design, process optimization, and technology implementation.

Leadership and Management Duties

• Manage and develop the engineering team, focusing on high performance, training, and career progression.
• Oversee the departmental budget and contribute to broader business planning activities.
• Maintain accountability for team deliverables, the quality of output, and overall engineering performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with professional registration. A minimum of 25 years of experience within oil & gas / hydrocarbon processing environments is required. The ideal candidate will be a recognized expert in process engineering and relevant technologies, with proven leadership experience managing large engineering teams and complex projects.
