About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Engineer Cyber Security for a full-time position in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This role focuses on substation automation system engineering activities, ensuring quality, cost, and timely delivery for assigned projects. The Lead Engineer will manage design activities, oversee project design budgets, implement design change processes, and coordinate all engineering tasks to ensure technical compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer Cyber Security will be responsible for cyber security design, configuration, implementation, assurance, and training across various business product lines including PAC, CIC, and M&D. This role involves collaboration with both tendering and execution teams.

  • Estimate man-days for design activities during the Inquiry to Order (ITO) stage.
  • Support new opportunities, including site surveys, deal estimations, and prequalification.
  • Review RFQs related to Cyber Security, providing recommendations, clarifications, and exceptions based on GE and GE Renewable Energy Policies.
  • Propose appropriate cyber security solutions, ensuring compatibility with core systems (DS Agile, GPG, CCS, CIC).
  • Create architecture references and Security Assurance Plans (SAPs) for projects requiring cyber security.
  • Develop BOM templates for cyber security devices and cost estimation templates for implementation.
  • Demonstrate EHS compliance and ensure the Zero Deviation Plan is implemented.
  • Control man-days for design activities during the Order to Remittance (OTR) stage.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to specify and design projects, meeting technical standards.
  • Prepare production documentation for panels integration and ensure on-time delivery of designs.
  • Participate in cost reduction through standardization and solution optimization.
  • Approve technical evaluations of supplier offers and support procurement during commercial negotiations.
  • Support site organization during preparation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with Quality Procedures.
  • Support factory during FAT preparation and conduct internal validation and customer FAT.
  • Manage design issues, validate designs, and ensure consistency of engineering documents.
  • Analyze customer technical requirements, prepare clause-by-clause analysis, and manage potential exceptions.
  • Communicate directly with customers to maintain service and intimacy.
  • Create Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and other documents for cyber security systems.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for cyber security.
  • Configure cyber security devices such as switches, hubs, servers, jump boxes, firewalls, and IDS.
  • Develop and execute cyber security assurance and maintenance plans for installed bases.
  • Align with core system teams to implement and test cyber security during internal system validation.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in substation automation engineering with a specialization in cyber security. The role requires a strong understanding of cyber security design, configuration, and implementation within industrial control systems.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with established quality and safety procedures.
