About the Role

Jobstronaut is seeking a Safety Officer to join a client's team in the Eastern Region, specifically covering operations in Al Khobar and Dammam. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and is crucial for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety protocols within an electrical panel manufacturing facility. The Safety Officer ensures a safe working environment for all employees by identifying potential hazards, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting training, and investigating incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of HSE policies, procedures, and work instructions aligned with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all employees and contractors are aware of and adhere to company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the manufacturing facility, equipment, and work practices to identify potential safety hazards specific to electrical panel manufacturing, such as electrical hazards, machinery guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and material handling.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Saudi Arabian safety regulations and international standards, including OSHA and NFPA for electrical safety.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary safety documentation, permits, and reports for regulatory bodies.
  • Lead toolbox talks and regular safety meetings for all employees, emphasizing specific hazards and safe work practices in electrical panel manufacturing.
  • Adhere to all factory HSE policies and procedures, particularly when conducting electrical tests and working with live panels, and report any unsafe conditions or practices.

Hazard Management and Incident Response

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for all manufacturing processes, machinery, and new projects.
  • Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incidents and prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills, such as fire drills and electrical shock response.

Safety Training and Equipment Management

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation, electrical safety, machine guarding, confined space entry (if applicable), fire safety, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide practical demonstrations of safe work procedures and equipment operation, and maintain records of all safety training conducted.
  • Assess PPE requirements for various tasks, ensuring adequate stock and proper distribution of appropriate PPE (*, electrical gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, safety footwear).
  • Conduct regular inspections of PPE to ensure integrity and proper use.
  • Regularly check the adequacy of Fire Fighting Equipment, ensuring fire extinguishers are inspected and refilled as needed, and that the fire hydrant system remains operational.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian safety regulations and international safety standards applicable to industrial and electrical environments.
  • Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards (*, NFPA 70E) and lockout/tagout procedures is preferred.
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering safety training programs.
