Sales Application Engineer

About the Role

AsasAlJood is seeking an Application Engineer to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. This full-time role involves providing technical support and engineering solutions to customers by understanding their power generation requirements and recommending suitable generator sets (gensets), associated electrical systems, and related equipment. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Context and Purpose

The Application Engineer serves as a technical liaison between sales, engineering, and project teams. Key responsibilities include supporting equipment selection, proposal preparation, and customer engagement. The role ensures the delivery of technically compliant and cost-effective power generation solutions across the Eastern Province and throughout Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate generator set (genset), power generation, and electrical engineering solutions.
• Select and size generator sets and associated equipment based on customer requirements, project specifications, applicable standards, and operational needs.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tender documentation for power generation solutions.
• Review project specifications, electrical drawings, and technical documents to ensure compliance with customer and project requirements.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and the sales team regarding generator sets and related equipment.
• Support the sales team during customer meetings by providing technical expertise and recommending suitable products and solutions.
• Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and customer training sessions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information, equipment specifications, and product documentation.
• Support the evaluation, selection, and configuration of generators, alternators, control panels, synchronization systems, ATS panels, and related accessories.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain technical documentation, application records, and project files.
• Stay updated on industry standards, emerging technologies, and competitor products within the power generation industry.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Required Experience and Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Strong technical understanding of power generation systems, including generator sets and associated electrical components.
• Ability to analyze customer needs and propose appropriate engineering solutions.
• Proficiency in preparing technical and commercial documentation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for customer and internal team interactions.
