About the Role

Maritronics is seeking a dedicated Service Engineer, Automation Marine, to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves specialized expertise in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of critical marine automation systems. Candidates should possess over 10 years of professional experience in a relevant field.

Role Purpose

The Service Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality and reliability of marine automation and electrical systems across various vessels and offshore units. This includes hands-on work from initial setup through to ongoing servicing and troubleshooting, upholding the highest maritime standards and collaborating with technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and servicing of marine engine automation systems and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Handle the installation and integration of main switchboards and emergency switchboards onboard vessels.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain tank gauging systems for fuel, ballast, and cargo applications.
  • Diagnose and repair PLC and SCADA-based automation systems used in marine environments.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with shipboard engineers and technical teams to ensure proper functionality of systems and compliance with maritime standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience specifically in marine automation or electrical systems.
  • Strong experience with engine automation systems and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of main and emergency switchboard installation and commissioning processes.
  • Proficiency in various tank gauging systems, including radar, pressure-based, and capacitance-based technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA systems from manufacturers such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Schneider.

Work Environment and Travel

This role requires a willingness to travel and work onboard vessels, offshore units, and in shipyards as operational needs dictate. The position is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time engagement.
