Technical Writer

About the Role

Met T&S is seeking a Technical Writer for a contract position in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This role involves preparing, reviewing, coordinating, and maintaining comprehensive engineering documentation throughout project lifecycles, ensuring compliance with project requirements and Saudi Aramco standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain technical correspondence, reports, design basis memoranda, design criteria, specifications, method statements, procedures, and as-built documentation.
• Review documents for grammar, consistency, correct terminology, template compliance, and alignment with Saudi Aramco and project requirements.
• Coordinate documentation inputs with various teams including process, mechanical, civil and structural, electrical, instrumentation, HSE, project management, and document control.
• Consolidate review comments, prepare client submission packages, maintain revision histories, and track document review and approval status.
• Support approved document uploads and transmittals, and maintain document registers using systems such as SharePoint, Aconex, EDMS, or ProArc.
• Compile vendor records, manufacturing records, test certificates, commissioning records, handover packages, as-built books, and Operations and Maintenance manuals.
• Ensure all documentation complies with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), Saudi Aramco Engineering Procedures (SAEP), project specifications, and contractual requirements.

Documentation Focus Areas

The role primarily focuses on documentation including, but not limited to, technical reports, design narratives, scopes of work, material requisitions, method statements, procedures, lessons learned reports, commissioning and startup documentation, as-built books, and O&M manuals.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in technical writing and documentation within an engineering or industrial context, with a strong understanding of Saudi Aramco standards.
