The Career Nest is partnering with an upscale dining establishment in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, known for its focus on quality food and hospitality. This full-time role is for a Junior Pastry Sous Chef to contribute to the pastry section, maintaining high standards and supporting the team.

Role Overview

As a Junior Pastry Sous Chef, you will work under the Head Pastry Chef, taking responsibility for daily pastry production. This includes items from viennoiserie to plated desserts, ensuring consistent quality. The role also involves developing junior team members and leading the section when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute classic and contemporary pastry techniques with precision and attention to presentation.
• Support the motivation and development of the pastry team, maintain discipline during busy periods, and lead the section in the Head Pastry Chef's absence.
• Plan daily production, monitor shelf life, adhere to FIFO and labeling standards, and manage freezing and defrosting procedures.
• Ensure all pastry items meet strict standards for taste, texture, and visual appeal, while maintaining a clean and compliant workspace.
• Monitor stock levels, manage portion controls, and minimize waste to maintain quality and control food costs.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3 to 5 years of dedicated pastry experience, with 2 to 3 years as a Chef de Partie Pastry or senior pastry cook in a fine dining or upscale restaurant.
• Strong practical knowledge of viennoiserie, doughs, creams, chocolate work, and fillings.
• Understanding of shelf life, storage protocols, and allergen controls.
• Demonstrated precision, creativity, and a focus on consistency and cost awareness.

Compensation

The salary for this position is 7,000 SAR per month.
