About KUWAIT STEEL and the Role

KUWAIT STEEL is seeking a dedicated Officer III, Strategic Sourcing to join our team in Al Qatif. This full-time position is integral to our plant operations, focusing on the strategic procurement of essential raw materials and additives required for manufacturing processes.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to execute strategic sourcing activities for raw materials and additives, ensuring the continuous supply of high-quality materials at competitive prices. The Officer III will contribute to overall cost efficiency and supply reliability by providing commercial analysis and informed sourcing recommendations to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute sourcing activities for raw materials and additives in accordance with approved procurement procedures and established sourcing strategies.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and monitor their performance to ensure material quality and continuity of supply.
• Conduct negotiations of commercial terms within approved limits to secure competitive pricing and favorable conditions.
• Manage competitive sourcing processes from initiation through to recommendation for management review.
• Monitor market conditions and provide relevant market intelligence to support strategic procurement planning.
• Prepare comprehensive commercial analyses and sourcing recommendations for management.
• Evaluate potential sourcing risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 0-1 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or a related field.

Scope of Authority

The Officer III is authorized to evaluate suppliers, conduct negotiations within predefined limits, and manage competitive sourcing processes. However, final approval for sourcing strategies, contract awards, and major commercial commitments rests with the Deputy Manager – Strategic Sourcing or higher management levels.
