KUWAIT STEEL is seeking a dedicated Production In Charge/Supervisor for its Ferro Silicon Plant. This full-time role is based in Al Qatif and involves overseeing critical production operations within a multicultural and diverse team environment.

Role Summary

The Production In Charge/Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision and control of ferro silicon plant production operations. This includes managing manpower, monitoring process performance, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all production activities. The role is instrumental in achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, optimizing recovery efficiency, and supporting cost control initiatives, all while adhering to approved plans and reporting performance to the Plant Head.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily ferro silicon production activities across assigned shifts to ensure operational continuity.
• Control furnace operations and production sequencing in alignment with approved production plans.
• Monitor production output, recovery percentage, product quality, and overall operational efficiency.
• Identify operational deviations and implement corrective actions within established procedures.
• Allocate manpower for multiple shifts and provide guidance to In-Charge personnel and operators during operations.
• Monitor attendance, facilitate effective shift handovers, and ensure proper task execution for optimal workforce utilization.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and coaching to staff and operators to enhance operational discipline and skills.
• Monitor the usage of raw materials, consumables, and power against approved norms and targets, reporting any abnormal consumption, losses, or inefficiencies to the Plant Head.
• Support optimization initiatives related to material handling and power utilization as directed.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved operating parameters, quality control instructions, plant safety rules, safe work procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Enforce compliance with ISO standards, audit requirements, and internal control procedures.
• Report and follow up on incidents, near misses, hazards, and non-conformities.
• Support the implementation of approved process improvement, modernization, and efficiency initiatives.
• Prepare and submit daily and shift-wise production reports, consumption data, and deviation summaries.
• Provide inputs for production planning reviews and budget monitoring as required.
• Mentor and train In-Charge personnel and operators on operational procedures and safety practices, supporting competency development initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in ferro silicon or similar ferroalloy smelting operations, specifically involving submerged arc furnaces.
• Demonstrated experience in high-temperature, power-intensive industrial operations.
