Job Summary
Bouygues Travaux Publics is seeking an experienced Security Director to lead the security function for a high-profile signature project in Al Ula, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overall responsibility for strategic security management, physical and operational security, crisis and emergency response, personnel and asset protection, and security intelligence within a complex and strategically important environment.
The Security Director will act as the principal security advisor to senior management and project leadership, ensuring a robust, scalable, and intelligence-led security strategy aligned with regulatory requirements, security standards, and company policies. The role requires extensive experience operating in complex, international, and geopolitically sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive and scalable security plan tailored to project-specific threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct continuous security risk and threat assessments, including geopolitical trends, local political dynamics, and potential for civil unrest.
- Establish and maintain an intelligence network with local authorities, law enforcement, government partners, and security contacts for timely information.
- Advise senior management and project leadership on security posture, emerging threats, mitigation measures, and strategic priorities.
- Lead the project's security function, ensuring security personnel are trained, equipped, certified, and operate according to protocols.
- Manage physical security across the construction site and facilities, including access control, perimeter security, surveillance, and personnel deployment.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for all project personnel, including site-specific requirements and emergency response.
- Oversee and coordinate secure movement of personnel, materials, and equipment, including secure logistics and convoy operations.
- Collaborate with security partners to develop integrated security protocols and coordinate joint operations.
- Establish and oversee perimeter monitoring and access-control protocols.
- Develop, maintain, and regularly review comprehensive crisis management and emergency response plans.
- Lead the on-site crisis management team and coordinate with regional and corporate leadership during incidents.
- Conduct regular emergency drills and training exercises.
- Establish and maintain an effective emergency communications framework.
- Implement and manage security programs for expatriate and local employees, including personal security assessments and protective measures.
- Ensure sensitive data, intellectual property, and critical project information are protected through access controls and security protocols.
- Oversee background checks and vetting for employees and contractors requiring site access.
Qualifications and Experience
- Over 10 years of experience in security leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience operating in complex, international, and geopolitically sensitive environments.
- Ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with local authorities, law enforcement, government partners, and key security stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of strategic security management, physical and operational security, crisis management, and intelligence.
Work Environment
This role is based in Al Ula, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, within a high-profile signature project. The environment involves a complex stakeholder landscape, including project leadership, construction and operational teams, corporate stakeholders, government authorities, law enforcement agencies, and specialist security partners. The successful candidate will need to establish effective relationships across these organizations while maintaining clear ownership of the project's overall security posture. This position requires an individual capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels.
