The Role of Electrical Engineer

Express Rental Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to ensure the reliability of its generator fleet, which ranges from 20 to 2,000 kVA. This full-time role also involves planning and commissioning LT/HT power solutions at customer sites throughout the Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise preventive maintenance for generators from 20 to 2,000 kVA.
• Diagnose and repair faults in AVRs, excitation systems, windings, controllers, breakers, and protection relays.
• Conduct insulation resistance, winding, load bank, and protection tests before dispatch and after return of units.
• Inspect returned units and maintain up-to-date service and test records.
• Survey sites to confirm load, cable sizing, earthing, and protection requirements.
• Install and commission gensets, distribution boards, and ATS/AMF panels.
• Commission multi-set synchronized systems, load sharing, and generator-to-grid paralleling.
• Set up temporary substations and HT/LT distribution, including transformers, RMUs, HT switchgear, and LT panels.
• Provide emergency breakdown support at customer sites.
• Size generators based on customer load data, including motor starting and step loads.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, method statements, and technical proposals.
• Enforce LOTO, permit-to-work, and HT safety protocols, adhering to Saudi Aramco and SEC requirements where applicable.
• Lead and mentor technicians, and coordinate with OEM dealers for parts and warranty services.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant electrical engineering role.
• Experience with engines such as Cummins, Perkins, TATA, Kohler, and Kubota.
• Familiarity with alternators including Stamford and Leroy Somer.
• Proficiency with controllers such as DeepSea, ComAp, SmartGen, or PowerCommand.
• Knowledge of LT systems up to 1,000 V and HT systems including 11 kV, * kV, and 33 kV.
