Elevator Product Development Engineer

About the Role

TK Elevator is seeking an Elevator Product Development Engineer to join its Product Development Centre. This full-time position is based in Dammam, Eastern Region, and is designed for a high-potential individual contributor with 3-5 years of experience who demonstrates strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities, with a motivation to progress into future lead or management roles.

Role Overview

The Elevator Product Development Engineer will serve as a key technical contributor, driving engineering excellence across elevator products and systems. This role involves the design, development, and lifecycle management of mechanical systems and components for elevator products, ensuring solutions are safe, innovative, manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with global engineering strategies. The successful candidate will influence outcomes, drive projects independently, and contribute to the development of engineering capabilities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and validate mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, including structural frameworks, enclosures, and moving assemblies.
• Ensure design integrity through the application of best practices in mechanics, materials, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Drive innovation and design optimization using simulation tools (FEA, NVH), prototyping, and iterative testing.
• Perform feasibility studies and cost analysis.
• Oversee new product development and existing product enhancements through all stages of the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product performance, safety, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost targets.
• Support engineering change management and product updates based on field or customer feedback.
• Ensure system-level integration, achieving seamless interaction between mechanical, electrical, control, and software systems.
• Research new technologies and materials to improve the efficiency and functionality of existing products.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams for cohesive system-level designs.
• Support supply chain and manufacturing with cost-reduction, DFM/DFA, and supplier qualification efforts.
• Align local development activities with global engineering platforms and architecture strategies.
• Champion robust design processes including DFMEA, tolerance analysis, design verification plans, and root cause problem solving.
• Ensure compliance with relevant elevator standards, regulations, and safety guidelines (*, EN, ASME, ISO, CE).
• Drive a quality-first culture with emphasis on early issue identification and corrective/preventive actions.
• Support or own the creation and updates of technical documents.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, or a related field.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical systems and components.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and potential for future leadership roles.
• Proficiency in simulation tools (FEA, NVH) and prototyping.
• Experience with design processes such as DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and design verification plans.
• Knowledge of relevant elevator standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
