About Batterjee Medical College and the Role

Batterjee Medical College, located in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a qualified and engaging Faculty Member in Pharmacology to join its General Medicine Practice program. This is a full-time position focused on delivering high-quality education and contributing to the academic environment of the college.

Role Purpose and Program Context

The primary purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive pharmacology instruction to medical students within the General Medicine program. The Faculty Member will support student development, contribute to research initiatives, and uphold academic excellence in alignment with established accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pharmacology lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to medical students.
  • Cover core areas including General Pharmacology (pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics), Systemic Pharmacology, and Clinical Pharmacology and therapeutics.
  • Integrate pharmacology teaching with clinical case-based learning (CBL/PBL) methodologies.
  • Utilize learning management systems (*, Blackboard) and other digital teaching tools effectively.
  • Prepare and administer student assessments (*, ExamSoft) and maintain accurate academic records, including attendance, grades, and reports.
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring to students, assisting them in understanding drug mechanisms, interactions, and clinical applications.
  • Monitor student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Research and Academic Quality

  • Conduct and publish research in pharmacology or related biomedical fields.
  • Participate in academic conferences and institutional research initiatives to contribute to the college’s research culture.
  • Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards, such as those set by NCAAA.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement processes, preparing necessary course and program reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience teaching Pharmacology in a medical or health sciences program.
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience is required for this position.

Collaboration and Engagement

The Faculty Member will participate in departmental meetings and academic committees. Collaboration with clinical faculty is essential for integrated teaching approaches, fostering a cohesive educational environment within the college.
