Job Description
About the Role
The British Council is seeking an Hourly Paid Teacher of English to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is available in Al Ula, Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh, offering a salary range of 185 - 200 SAR per hour. The role focuses on providing a stimulating English language learning experience and supporting the British Council's cultural relations mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English language teaching tailored to diverse customer groups and individual learning needs.
- Ensure teaching adheres to British Council Global Teaching Standards and meets organisational and learner expectations.
- Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and promote learner autonomy.
- Engage in professional development and performance management to maintain high standards in teaching and learning.
- Support teaching centre activities and British Council plans, contributing to the development and evaluation of courses and materials.
- Assist in local marketing and promotional strategies and deliver excellent customer service.
- Complete administrative tasks related to teaching and uphold professional responsibilities and values.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Inform customers about the British Council’s cultural relations role and facilitate opportunities for students to engage with UK culture and values.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and policies related to Safeguarding, Data Protection, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Special Educational Needs and Disability, and Health and Safety.
Work Schedule and Availability
Teachers will be assigned to one or more classes per term based on their availability and operational needs. The post holder must cover the full-term teaching schedule for assigned classes, which may include evening and weekend shifts. Additional duties may involve standby and long-term cover work as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in English language teaching.
