This full-time role involves independently setting up, programming, optimizing, and operating various CNC and conventional machines to manufacture, repair, and rework precision components according to approved specifications and tolerances. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Machinist will be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and reworking precision components, premium connections, API connections, and other assigned jobs. This includes operating a range of machines such as VTLs, HBMs, turning centers, and lathes. Additionally, the role involves inspecting, measuring, machining, repairing, assembling, and supporting authorized testing of pressure-control and rotating equipment in adherence to manufacturer requirements, approved procedures, quality standards, and HSE controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, procedures, routing, and job requirements; coordinate priorities with the supervisor; and select efficient machining and repair methods.
  • Independently set up and operate VTLs, HBMs, CNC turning centers, milling machines, and conventional lathes, including alignment, workholding, datum setting, tooling, offsets, simulation, and controlled prove-out.
  • Create, input, edit, verify, prove out, and optimize CNC programs for premium connections, API connections, and other assigned work, including cycles, toolpaths, speeds, feeds, depths of cut, compensation, and machining sequences within approved controls.
  • Diagnose and correct machine, program, setup, chatter, vibration, tool-wear, dimensional-drift, and surface-finish issues using manufacturer information and approved methods.
  • Manufacture and restore components to specified dimensions, fits, concentricity, runout, surface finish, geometric tolerances, and workmanship standards.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, measure, machine, lap, reface, repair, restore, replace, and reassemble valves, actuators, pressure-containing components, and sealing parts; document wear, damage, corrosion, and dimensional deviations.
  • Perform dimensional checks and, within assigned authorization, prepare and perform or support approved hydrostatic, pneumatic, shell, seat-leakage, operational, and functional tests using specified criteria and calibrated instruments.
  • Meet approved utilization, productivity, efficiency, quality, routing-time, and manufacturer-standard requirements; complete inspection, test, and work-order routing records; and submit completed work for required verification and release.
  • Work independently or with team members, communicate professionally, provide technical guidance within own competence, and escalate issues requiring additional support.
  • Maintain machines, tooling, test equipment, housekeeping, and accurate handovers; keep product and technical knowledge current and attend required training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in machining operations.
  • Proficiency in setting up, programming, and operating CNC and conventional machines.
  • Experience with VTLs, HBMs, turning centers, and lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
