The Role of Refrigeration Trailer Technician

The Refrigeration Trailer Technician is a full-time position responsible for the comprehensive inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration units installed on refrigerated trailers, commonly referred to as reefers. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of essential cooling systems for our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigerated trailers and their associated refrigeration units.
• Diagnose and efficiently repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system faults.
• Conduct thorough inspections of critical components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, sensors, and control systems.
• Identify and repair refrigerant leaks, and accurately recharge refrigeration systems as required.
• Execute routine service activities, such as oil and filter changes, to ensure system longevity and efficiency.
• Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain precise and detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed.
• Ensure strict compliance with all company safety policies and relevant industry regulations during all work activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma or Technical Certification in Refrigeration, HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical Technology is required.
• Candidates should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience in refrigeration or a related technical field.
• Experience with Thermo King or Carrier Transicold units is preferred for this role.

Technical Skills and Abilities

• Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex control systems.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for mechanical and electrical issues within refrigeration systems.
