Baker Hughes is seeking a Shop Operator Rotor Repairs to join our team in Dammam, Eastern Region. Role Summary

As a Shop Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and operating various pieces of equipment essential for service and manufacturing facility requirements. This full-time role involves performing quality control and assurance activities in accordance with manufacturing/engineering specifications, internal procedures, and ISO requirements, potentially operating multiple machines simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and repair activities for Centrifugal Compressors Rotors, Centrifugal Pumps Rotors, Gas Turbine Rotors, and Gears Shafts.
• Conduct visual inspection, geometrical inspection, non-destructive testing, and other tests, recording results as per requirements and data sheets.
• Ensure quality control of in-process parts, inspecting all parts after operation completion and recording results in data sheets.
• Execute product preservation procedures.
• Raise HSE concerns and observations in line with per capita targets.
• Conduct machine tool preventive maintenance and daily maintenance checklists.
• Report on fixture and tooling performance and rigidity evaluation, including testing new fixture designs and clamping methods.
• Perform 6S and housekeeping activities for machines (interior & exterior), workstations, and surrounding areas, and participate in improvement projects and Lean Manufacturing implementation.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in operating mechanical machines.
• Knowledge and experience in performing various types of inspections, repairs, balancing, and testing of centrifugal compressors and centrifugal pumps.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in repair activities of rotating equipment, including centrifugal compressors, centrifugal pumps, gas turbines, and gearboxes.
• 10 years of experience in manufacturing or service shops.
• Experience in compressor rotor or pump rotor de-stacking (disassembly by flare) and stacking (assembly).
• Proficiency in implementing total run-out tests.
• Capability, knowledge, and skill to operate a LATHE Machine (Manual or CNC).
• Capability, knowledge, and skill to operate Low Speed Horizontal Balancing Machines, including performing balancing checks and activities to remove residual unbalance.
• Capability, knowledge, and skill to operate Vertical Balancing Machines, including performing balancing checks and activities to remove residual unbalance.

Desired Skills and Attributes

• Experience in Gas Turbine Rotor Disks de-stacking (disassembly) and stacking (assembly) is preferred.
• Machining experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a 2-3 shift pattern and overtime when required (initially morning shifts only).
• Strong mechanical aptitude or an enthusiasm to learn and develop skills in a hands-on environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a valuable team player.

Work Environment and Conditions

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Region. The role may require working in a 2-3 shift pattern and overtime as needed, though initially, shifts will be mornings only.
