The Role of Junior Pastry Sous Chef

We are seeking a Junior Pastry Sous Chef to support the Head Pastry Chef in managing the pastry section. This full-time role involves taking ownership of daily production, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to team development. The position is based in Al Khobar and offers a monthly salary of 7,000 SAR.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute classic and contemporary pastry techniques with precision, care, and attention to presentation.
• Participate in motivating and developing the pastry team, maintaining discipline during busy services.
• Lead the pastry section confidently in the absence of the Head Pastry Chef.
• Plan daily production, monitor shelf life, and maintain strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and labeling standards.
• Execute freezing and defrosting procedures flawlessly.
• Ensure all items meet strict standards for taste, texture, and visual appeal.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workspace.
• Monitor stock levels, manage portion controls, and minimize waste while maintaining quality and managing food costs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a pastry role.
• Demonstrated ability to produce delicate viennoiserie and refined plated desserts.
• Strong understanding of pastry techniques and quality standards.
• Experience in team development and leadership within a kitchen environment.
