Finance SME Refining (Downstream)

About the Role

emagine is seeking a Finance SME Refining (Downstream) for a full-time position in Dhahran, Eastern region. This role focuses on integrating finance expertise into refining operations, ensuring financial models, product hierarchies, and profitability metrics are aligned with refinery practices and costings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or support refining workshops to capture the current finance, reporting, and KPI landscape.
• Define refining-specific requirements, including refinery/asset dimensions and product slates.
• Advise on refining margin measurements such as gross refining margin and Replacement Cost (RC) margin.
• Validate GCOA, product hierarchy, and segmentation outputs from a refining perspective.
• Identify refining reporting gaps and provide inputs for the roadmap.

Qualifications and Experience

This position is equivalent to a senior manager or director level, requiring a minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, with at least 8 years specifically in refining. Focus areas include Finance Data Model and Reporting & Segmentation Design.

• Senior finance or controlling role experience within a refinery or integrated downstream company.
• Strong knowledge of hydrocarbon accounting and product costing.
• Experience with turnaround/maintenance capital expenditure (capex) and asset-level performance reporting.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with refinery planning/hydrocarbon accounting tools.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA for Oil & Gas.
• Prior refining experience within the GCC region.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
