About the Opportunity

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran is seeking a Lecturer / Trainer - University Life Skills to join its team. This full-time position is for highly qualified, energetic, and experienced individuals with 2-5 years of relevant experience who are committed to student development. The University Life Skills course is taught in Arabic.

Role Overview

The primary focus of this role is to provide teaching, training, and support to fresh students enrolled in the Prep Year Program. Based on experience, the Lecturer / Trainer may also contribute to curriculum development and participate in committees dedicated to the continuous improvement and enhancement of the Prep Year program. Opportunities to pursue research interests outside of working hours are also available.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching and training Prep Year students to acquire essential life skills.
• Delivering instruction on topics such as Service Learning and Community Service.
• Facilitating learning in Problem Solving, Leadership, and Team Building.
• Guiding students in Setting Goals and Time Management techniques.
• Developing students' Thinking Skills and Presentation Skills.
• Providing training in Scientific Writing.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.
• Holding formal relevant training certificates is desirable.
• Teaching experience at a Western institution (*, USA, Canada, UK, Australia) is preferred.
• The ability to assess and evaluate course outcomes and students’ performance is considered a plus.
