Tool Management & Operational Excellence

About the Role

TechnipFMC is seeking a Full-time COOP Trainee for Tool Management & Operational Excellence in Dhahran, Eastern Province. This role is designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on supporting the development and implementation of effective management systems for CNC cutting tools, general tools, and fixtures. The trainee will contribute to operational excellence initiatives under the guidance of the Operations Support and Operational Excellence teams.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to support the establishment of robust management systems for various tools through detailed consumption analysis, inventory visibility, traceability, and replenishment controls. Additionally, the COOP trainee will coordinate 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities, including the implementation of pull systems, standard work, and A3 problem-solving methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Study current practices for managing CNC cutting tools, general tools, and fixtures, identifying gaps and recommending practical improvements.
• Analyze cutting-tool consumption, cost, and tool-life data to identify opportunities for reducing unnecessary consumption.
• Utilize consumption trends, production requirements, stock levels, and supplier lead times to support demand forecasting and recommend optimal order quantities and timing.
• Support the development of a simple tool-tracking system and pilot agreed improvements under supervision, documenting results and providing recommendations at the end of the six-month placement.
• Support 5S audits and Kaizen activities in assigned areas, following up on agreed improvement actions with area owners.
• Assist selected pull-system and A3 projects through data collection, gap analysis, and progress tracking under guidance.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Basic awareness of 5S principles, Kaizen methodologies, pull systems/Kanban, A3 problem-solving, and standard work.
• Willingness to develop practical knowledge of tool traceability, consumption monitoring, and site HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and quality requirements.
• This role is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of professional experience.

This is a Full-time position based in Dhahran, Eastern Province, within a professional industrial setting at TechnipFMC. The role involves working closely with operations support and operational excellence teams to drive continuous improvement.
