Welding Engineer

TechnipFMC is seeking a Welding Engineer to join their team in Dhahran, Eastern Province. This is an employee-level position requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose

The Welding Engineer is responsible for developing and ensuring the implementation of fabrication activities on assigned projects. This includes adherence to industry and company standards, the Project Execution Plan, and Project Installation Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop new welding procedures as required.
• Support supplier audits when necessary.
• Conduct design reviews with product design teams to optimize manufacturing costs.
• Develop local weld instructions to streamline processes.
• Review and interpret customer and industrial specifications.
• Provide recommendations to the design engineering team during design review stages.
• Participate in department discussions related to technical issues and lessons learned.
• Demonstrate commitment to QHSE through participation in safety and quality initiatives.
• Understand the workflow for controlling welding documentation and issuing weld procedures for projects.
• Endorse Welder Qualification & certification.
• Endorse Local Welding Instructions (LWI) related to industrial codes and practices.
• Develop LWI for new processes.
• Engage in Design for Excellence (DFX) conversations.
• Participate in audits to ensure adherence to codes and specifications.
• Oversee Welding Engineering Governance and Process Control.
• Support tenders and product engineering quotation activities.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience is generally required.

Technical Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of various welding processes.
• Familiarity with welding industrial codes, including API 6A, ISO 3834, ASME IX, and NACE MR0175.
