Accountant (Accounts Payable) FMCG Industry

About the Role

Jobskey Search and Selection is seeking an Accountant (Accounts Payable) with 5-10 years of experience in the FMCG industry. This full-time position is based in the Makkah region, specifically covering Jeddah and Makkah. The role focuses on managing accounts payable operations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, employee expense claims, and supplier advances.
• Ensure invoices comply with contractual terms, tax laws (*, VAT), and internal policies.
• Schedule and execute payments in line with agreed credit terms and company cash flow requirements.
• Maintain accurate vendor master data in ERP systems.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support negotiations on payment terms in coordination with procurement and finance teams.
• Reconcile accounts payable balances with vendors and the General Ledger.
• Prepare aging reports and monitor overdue payables.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
• Support compliance with VAT reporting and withholding tax requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits.
• Work closely with Procurement, Treasury, and GL & Tax teams to ensure accurate expense recognition.
• Provide guidance to junior accountants within the AP team.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting of accounts payable-related expenses.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, automation, and efficiency.
• Support ERP upgrades and digitalization initiatives in the AP area.
• Maintain and validate contract records for accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in monthly and annual warehouse inventory counts to ensure accurate inventory records and financial reporting.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in an accounting role, specifically within Accounts Payable, preferably within the FMCG industry. A strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations (including VAT), and ERP systems is required.

Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems is essential. Effective communication skills are also important for interacting with vendors and internal teams.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, serving operations in both Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires collaboration with various internal departments including Procurement, Treasury, and GL & Tax teams.
