About the Role

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking an Air Operation Officer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This contract role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and is central to ensuring efficient air and ground logistics for the organization's humanitarian operations.

Role Purpose

The Air Operation Officer is responsible for coordinating all ground operations in Jeddah. This includes ensuring the proper transport of passengers, luggage, cargo, and diplomatic pouches. Additionally, the role oversees Welcome services for passengers in Jeddah, managing customs processes, transit arrangements, hotel bookings, and ground transportation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate movements of passengers, baggage, cargo, and diplomatic pouches.
  • Support passenger check-in, boarding, and provide essential travel briefings.
  • Supervise aircraft ground operations, including loading, unloading, and refueling activities.
  • Assist flight crews with flight planning and provide necessary weather information.
  • Monitor aircraft movements and communicate schedules, departures, arrivals, and operational updates.
  • Ensure all weight and balance documentation is accurately received and filed.
  • Obtain flight, security, and landing clearances and permits as required.
  • Liaise effectively with airport authorities, ground handlers, fuel providers, customs, immigration, and security personnel.
  • Monitor changes in aviation regulations and airport operating procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Distribute flight schedules to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict compliance with AirOps Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor the security situation, promptly reporting any risks or operational issues to management.
  • Coordinate closely with security focal points and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate visas, travel documentation, transport, and accommodation for staff.
  • Arrange airport pickups, hotel bookings, and staff residences.
  • Liaise with ministries, consulates, and immigration authorities on behalf of staff.
  • Coordinate staff travel plans with both Welcome and AirOps teams.
  • Resolve accommodation and travel-related issues efficiently.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in air operations, logistics, or a related field is required for this position.
