About the Role

Jeddah Transport Company (JTC) is seeking an Architectural Civil & Engineering Works Lead to oversee architectural and engineering aspects of its multimodal transport infrastructure projects in Makkah, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah cities. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of all infrastructure works.

Role Overview

The Architectural Civil & Engineering Works Lead will provide technical leadership and oversight for architectural and engineering works across JTC’s land and maritime transport infrastructure projects. This role ensures that designs and delivered assets are feasible, safe, compliant, constructable, and aligned with operational and customer experience objectives. The Lead will manage technical interfaces across architectural, civil, structural, and related engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle, from design to handover, upholding relevant local and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical review of architectural and engineering design submissions for transport infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to approved standards and project requirements.
  • Approve designs based on feasibility, safety, constructability, maintainability, accessibility, and integration with multimodal operations.
  • Oversee the review and coordination of architectural and engineering works for maritime infrastructure, including marine stations, jetties, and associated landside connections.
  • Coordinate design interfaces between architectural works and other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, and utilities.
  • Support the preparation of technical inputs for tenders, scope of works, and contract documents.
  • Monitor on-site execution of architectural and engineering works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
  • Lead site inspections, technical walk-downs, and progress assessments, ensuring timely resolution of defects and non-conformances.
  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and design changes before implementation.
  • Collaborate with project delivery, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure technical solutions are integrated and ready for handover.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and snagging activities, ensuring deficiencies are addressed prior to service activation.
  • Manage technical issue resolution with consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Track technical risks, design issues, and interface conflicts, supporting mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international building, engineering, and safety codes and standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a relevant field.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with specific project locations in Jeddah and Makkah.
