Job Description: The cashier position is a vital part of the work environment. The cashier is responsible for counting the available cash in the cash register and recording it. They handle payments in cash or by credit card and update price lists. It also requires reconciling the incoming cash with the total sales at the end of the shift. The cashier must deal with customers with patience, fulfilling their requests by adding or removing items from their shopping lists.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Count the cash and record it in the cash register at the beginning of the work shift.
- Receive payments in cash or by credit card or other approved methods, and return change and issue appropriate receipts.
- Continuously update price lists and calculate the prices of goods or services.
- Apply discounts when necessary.
- Reconcile the incoming cash with the total sales at the end of the shift and report any discrepancies.
- Interact with customers and fulfill their requests.
