Role Overview: Assistant Key Account Manager

This full-time role as an Assistant Key Account Manager is based in Jeddah, within the Mecca Region. The position is responsible for sales, negotiation, and order facilitation for assigned customers at the store level. This involves aligning with the Customer Business Plan (CBP) and channel strategy, building effective customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and addressing performance gaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Customer Business Plan and develop corrective actions for performance shortfalls or upsides.
  • Conduct sales and negotiations within parameters set by the NKAM/KAM for customer relationship strategy.
  • Manage the end-to-end process within relevant stores, including pricing, order placement, delivery, and associated administration.
  • Optimize the claims management process for customers.
  • Ensure end-to-end Trade Term Spend (TTS) process execution, from forecasting to accrual, validation of claims, dispute resolution, and timely customer payments.
  • Ensure Perfect Store plan execution by Field Sales through data analysis and incorporate learnings for continuous improvement.
  • Manage total trade spend, terms and conditions, and budget transfers in alignment with business objectives.
  • Determine promotional tactics and frequency, leveraging Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO) to enhance plans.
  • Review promotional plans with a focus on pre-evaluation of all TTS spend to maximize ROI.
  • Confirm promotional details with customers, identify opportunistic promotional activities, and manage changes to rebates and live rates.
  • Analyze profit pools and review Customer Category Development (CCD) building blocks.
  • Update the annual plan through monthly review of the promo grid, feeding into the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle.
  • Collaborate with the operations team on day-to-day operational execution, including Perfect Store ownership, to minimize stock issues and ensure stock rotation.
  • Build the S&OP forecast in alignment with the KAM/NKAM regarding Turnover (TO) assumptions, budgets, and channel strategy.
  • Agree on activities with Category Teams when performance gaps occur against the CBP before customer agreement.
  • Implement Customer Development (CD) capability building priorities and focus skills.
  • Identify and execute pilots/experiments to build in-market advantage and develop new team capabilities.
  • On-board new hires, interns, and movers to customer dynamics and Unilever Ways of Working.
