About the Role

FNRCO is seeking a qualified Automation & Surveillance Engineer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to the design, testing, validation, and ongoing support of critical Automation and Surveillance systems. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and focuses on ensuring system integrity and operational excellence.

Role Purpose and Compliance

The Automation & Surveillance Engineer is responsible for executing core technical activities while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. This includes adherence to defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), agreed budgets, and adopted company policies and procedures, particularly within the aviation industry context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technical proposals for Automation and Surveillance systems in response to client RFPs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of systems, collaborating with internal teams to meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead system testing and validation processes, ensuring adherence to design requirements and regulatory standards, and provide technical assistance during operational transition.
  • Continuously monitor and ensure all systems comply with relevant ICAO and other aviation industry regulations, providing ongoing technical assessments.
  • Assist in quality assurance and participate in the commissioning of new systems, ensuring all technical and operational requirements are met.
  • Create detailed project schedules, identify milestones, and assign tasks to ensure timely project completion.
  • Implement and continuously improve system designs to meet evolving operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead system design reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR) and oversee quality assurance tests to meet client expectations and industry standards.
  • Lead the integration of Automation and Surveillance systems with existing and future systems, ensuring seamless technical interfacing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICAO and other relevant regulations, ensuring compliance in all engineering activities, especially safety-critical aspects.
  • Support assessments of air traffic service (ATS) procedure changes and airspace structure adjustments on existing and future systems.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, other engineering departments, vendors, and contractors to facilitate project execution and meet client expectations.
  • Report project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions to the Automation and Surveillance Manager.
  • Offer expert technical support and consultation during project execution, collaborating with installation and planning teams.
  • Conduct day-to-day activities in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in systems and processes, considering leading practices and cost reduction.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in automation and surveillance systems.
  • Relevant certifications in bidding, project management, or technical disciplines are advantageous.
