About the Role

Centro Shaheen is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time position is suitable for professionals with 0-1 years of experience who are passionate about maintaining high standards in health, safety, and food quality.

Key Responsibilities

The Environmental Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with EHS and food safety management systems, as well as local and international regulations. Key duties include:

• Establishing, implementing, and maintaining EHS and food safety management systems in accordance with HACCP/ISO standards.
• Providing reports to top management on EHS and food safety system performance, including recommendations for improvement.
• Leading or participating in EHS/HACCP/ISO/Sustainability/OHSMS compliance and management system audits, and advising on corrective actions.
• Establishing audit requirements to ensure compliance with food safety, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.
• Overseeing audit results, evaluating trends, communicating findings, and developing action plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participating in incident investigations, documenting root causes, communicating results, and setting corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitoring changes in Sustainability/Health and Safety/Food Safety local regulations and updating internal procedures accordingly.
• Driving improvement and tracking goal achievement through data collection, analysis, and communication of EHS goals.
• Conducting EHS and food safety training for all employees.
• Undertaking regular EHS and food safety inspections and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensuring supplier and contractor compliance with EHS and food safety standards through audits and communication.
• Managing and controlling all documents related to EHSMS and food safety.
• Collaborating with departments on corporate social responsibility activities.
• Overseeing the implementation and monitoring of Rotana Earth programs.
• Operating in a safe and environmentally friendly manner to protect health and conserve the environment.
• Complying with hotel environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Occupational Health and Safety System Management

This role also involves specific responsibilities related to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS):

• Developing and periodically reviewing OHSMS manuals, policies, and procedures.
• Leading the implementation of the OHS System and monitoring it through inspections and meetings with department heads and operational colleagues.
• Actively participating in periodic reviews and assisting in setting EHS objectives and targets.
• Ensuring new employees receive OHS training relevant to their tasks.
• Reporting OHSMS performance to senior management and regulatory authorities.
• Ensuring legal requirements are updated, communicated, and implemented across the property.
• Establishing and planning audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OHS regulations.
• Overseeing and communicating all audit results, and establishing action plans to ensure hotel compliance with OHS regulatory requirements.
• Conducting and regularly reviewing risk assessments for all hotel areas in coordination with concerned departments and implementing specific control measures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating a foundational understanding of health and safety protocols.
