About the Head of E-commerce Role

Beiersdorf is seeking a Head of E-commerce to lead the company's transformation journey and drive significant growth. This full-time position is based in Jeddah and Makkah within the Makkah region. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the E-commerce transformation journey and growth strategy.
  • Identify and leverage new and emerging channels for profitable business generation.
  • Drive Key Customer selection and re-engineer processes for improved system efficiencies.
  • Establish review mechanisms and analyze MIS data to derive insights and inform action planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on all aspects of the E-commerce business, including product portfolio, content strategy, promotional campaigns, commercial investments, and full funnel integration.
  • Enhance productivity through improved execution and measure the reach of unexploited e-tailers.
  • Develop Promotional & Assortment strategies for e-commerce by understanding competitive and business trends.
  • Conceptualize SKU focus, ensuring alignment with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales departments.
  • Drive key performance indicators such as UV, CVR, AOV, and loyalty through focused initiatives.
  • Review sales systems and processes within e-tailer distribution channels, driving standardization and optimization.
  • Provide thought leadership and advise the MU Management Team on Omni-Channel commerce to build a future-proof organization.
  • Lead the omnichannel strategy and growth within KSA.
  • Foster effective teaming and communication by providing regular progress updates to stakeholders and driving ECom upskilling across the organization.
  • Ensure successful roll-out of initiatives by securing senior management support, adhering to timelines, and incorporating learnings from pilots.
  • Achieve Sales, Profit, and Market Share targets.

Operational Execution

  • Work closely with top pure players, marketplaces, and online retailers, and coordinate with mainstream brick-and-mortar retailers' e-commerce departments.
  • Maintain fully updated master data with retailers, including regular updates to product descriptions, selling stories, images, and RSPs on all e-tailer sites.
  • Engage with online loyalty programs of top E-commerce retailers.
  • Establish strong relationships with the responsible E-commerce teams of online retailers.
  • Agree on support plans for key E-commerce customer sites for focus categories in line with annual marketing plans, ensuring prominent brand visibility.
  • Align Performance-Precision integration for the full funnel and drive Events / Always On activations.
  • Ensure close collaboration between Brand & Commercial teams for simultaneous online & offline launch impact and on-time listing of new launches with E-commerce retailers.
  • Manage and track budgets, including commercial and S&CM budgets.
  • Forecast and plan inventory based on Sell Outs and Days of Inventory held, focusing on the eMust Sell List.
  • Conduct regular market visits and research with local teams to stay updated on retail market trends.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a focus on Sales, Digital, or Brand marketing.
  • 7+ years of Sales and Marketing experience in the FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully growing E-commerce business for an FMCG Company or demonstrated expertise in category management with top E-commerce e-tailers.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • High proficiency in MS Office applications, with an emphasis on advanced Excel.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial and international mindset with the ability to adapt.
  • Experience managing large projects requiring significant change management effort.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English are mandatory.
