About the Role: Hydraulics Inspector

WSP Middle East is seeking a Hydraulics Inspector for a full-time site supervision role in Makkah and Jeddah. This position is integral to the construction supervision team, focusing on the installation and construction of critical hydraulic infrastructure within transportation and road projects.

Key Focus of the Position

The role involves overseeing various hydraulic systems, including stormwater networks, culverts, drainage systems, and flood protection works, all associated with transportation and road projects. Candidates must possess extensive site supervision experience on infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia (KSA) and a strong background in inspecting drainage and hydraulic works for engineering consultancy organizations. Experience predominantly in building services, contractor-only roles, or office-based design positions will not be considered for this opportunity.

Core Responsibilities

• Inspect drainage, stormwater, hydraulic, and utility works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor construction activities related to culverts, box culverts, pipelines, catch basins, manholes, channels, retention ponds, and flood mitigation structures.
• Verify line, level, alignment, dimensions, and quality of works executed on site.
• Review contractor work activities and monitor compliance with approved method statements and quality procedures.
• Witness and document inspections, testing, and commissioning activities related to drainage and hydraulic systems.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, discipline engineers, and other inspectors to resolve site issues.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE and environmental requirements.
• Support progress monitoring and provide inspection reports identifying deficiencies and required corrective actions.
• Verify materials used in hydraulic and drainage works meet project specifications and approved submittals.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and construction details related to drainage and hydraulic infrastructure.
• Support the successful delivery of transportation corridors, roads, highways, drainage systems, and associated civil infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Mandatory experience within Saudi Arabia (KSA).
• Proven experience working with engineering consultancy firms on construction supervision projects.
• Strong experience in transportation, road, highway, and utility infrastructure projects.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based on site within the Makkah and Jeddah regions of Saudi Arabia. The salary for this role will be discussed during the interview process.
