About the Role

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking a Mechatronics Senior Engineer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for managing the RM Team and providing essential technical support for automated material handling equipment within warehouses and distribution centers. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.

Role Overview

The Mechatronics Senior Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of automated systems. This involves close collaboration with PLC Engineers, Software Developers, and Software Support Engineers to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair both mechanical and electrical systems. A strong foundation in electrical and mechanical principles, including knowledge of motors, drivers, belts, and bearings, is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate on-site maintenance activities for electrical and mechanical automated system machines.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and align electrical and mechanical automated system machines.
  • Clear interfaces of electrical and mechanical software.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, particularly in high-impact scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain standards and tools for hardware projects aimed at system improvements.
  • Monitor the performance and contributions of external suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor the overall performance of automated system machines.
  • Maneuver warehouse and distribution center ladders, metal stairs, catwalks, and temporary structures to identify and resolve problems.
  • Assist in identifying the root causes of faults and production errors.
  • Work collaboratively with onsite staff and software developers to ensure maximum system uptime.
  • Analyze daily system operation reports to track performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Train internal and external customers to enhance system knowledge, resolve issues, and prevent recurrence.
  • Update the help-desk ticketing system to track, monitor, and resolve reported issues.
  • Attend and actively participate in relevant meetings.
  • Occasionally perform extended hours, weekend, and holiday work to support customer service and change requests.
  • Work independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Update system manuals as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant mechatronics or automation engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Proficiency with components such as motors, drivers, belts, and bearings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including PLC Engineers, Software Developers, and Software Support Engineers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills for high-impact customer interactions.

Work Environment

This role operates in a dynamic environment, with approximately 80% of time spent indoors and 20% outdoors. The standard work schedule is 6 days per week with 1 day off, comprising 8 hours per day on rotating shifts, which includes a 1-hour break.
