Port Operations Manager

About the Role

Masarat Al Mina Customs Clearance is seeking an experienced Port Operations Manager to oversee daily shipment operations at Jeddah Islamic Port. This full-time role, based in Jeddah, Makkah, requires strong hands-on experience in customs clearance and international shipping to ensure efficient processing and release of shipments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily shipment operations at Jeddah Islamic Port.
• Supervise customs clearance representatives, assign daily tasks, and monitor performance.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, agents, and freight forwarders regarding vessel arrivals, shipment availability, and release procedures.
• Organize shipment priorities and track shipments from arrival through customs clearance to final release.
• Monitor customs declarations, inspections, clearance procedures, and required documentation.
• Follow up on delivery orders and coordinate with shipping agents and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other necessary documents.
• Resolve operational issues, customs clearance delays, and documentation discrepancies.
• Monitor port storage charges, demurrage, detention, and other additional costs, taking action to minimize them.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi customs regulations, port requirements, and applicable import/export procedures.
• Monitor the use of the FASAH platform and other relevant customs clearance systems.
• Prepare daily reports on incoming, released, and delayed shipments, pending transactions, and reasons for delays.
• Evaluate team performance, improve productivity, and ensure timely completion of operational tasks.
• Maintain effective communication with management, clients, shipping agents, and relevant authorities.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in port operations.
• Direct, hands-on experience in customs clearance and international shipping is mandatory.
• Previous field experience at Jeddah Islamic Port is strongly preferred.
• General administrative experience or shipping experience without practical customs clearance knowledge is not sufficient for this role.

This role is based in Jeddah, Makkah, and involves managing operations directly at Jeddah Islamic Port. The position requires a proactive approach to daily challenges and coordination with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
