About the Role
Pharmaceutical Solutions Industry is seeking a Senior Chemist - IPQC to join their team in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and is responsible for the precise testing of water and in-process samples according to approved specifications and analytical methods.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the quality and compliance of in-process materials and water used in pharmaceutical production. The Senior Chemist will execute critical chemical and physical analyses, contributing directly to maintaining product integrity and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical and physical analyses on In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) samples, including water from the Water Treatment Unit, rinse water, bulk solutions, and filling line samples.
- Perform all analyses in strict adherence to approved specifications and Method of Analysis.
- Prepare chemical reagents and ensure the accurate preparation and standardization of volumetric solutions.
- Execute instrument calibrations as per the established calibration program.
- Ensure full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Adhere to Good Documentation Practices and ALCOA principles during all testing procedures and result reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated ability to perform chemical and physical analyses accurately.
- Proficiency in preparing chemical reagents and standardizing volumetric solutions.
- Experience with instrument calibration programs.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding and application of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Meticulous attention to detail in documentation, following Good Documentation Practices and ALCOA principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, serving the broader Makkah and Jeddah regions. The role operates within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, requiring strict adherence to quality and safety protocols. Salary details will be discussed during the interview process.
