About the Role at Buruoj Engineering Consultant

Buruoj Engineering Consultant is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on leading mechanical design for complex and high-rise building projects, requiring strong design capabilities and proven expertise in the field. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring design excellence and compliance with industry standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design for large-scale and high-rise building projects, encompassing HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.
  • Develop, review, and approve comprehensive design documents, including calculations, schematics, load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems adhere to the Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE, NFPA, and relevant local authority regulations.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, structure, electrical, and infrastructure departments.
  • Manage BIM model development, conduct clash detection, and facilitate coordination using tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
  • Utilize the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) platform for model sharing, document control, and collaborative coordination with project teams.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to construction and site teams by reviewing RFIs, material submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Mentor junior mechanical engineers and uphold project quality standards across all design outputs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with a focus on design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering complex and high-rise building projects.
  • Strong design capabilities across various mechanical systems.

Technical Proficiency

  • Full proficiency in BIM workflows and related software, including Revit and Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) platform.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi Building Codes (SBC), ASHRAE, NFPA, and local authority requirements.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a collaborative environment, coordinating with various engineering and architectural disciplines to deliver large-scale projects.
