About the Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts is seeking a Sr Mgr Events I to join their team in Makkah. This full-time position is responsible for the comprehensive management of property events, ensuring seamless execution from pre-event planning through post-event follow-up. The role primarily focuses on complex events and requires a proactive approach to client service and revenue maximization.

Event Management Responsibilities

The Sr Mgr Events I will prepare all necessary event documentation and coordinate effectively with Sales, property departments, and clients to deliver consistent, high-level service. This includes managing client budgets to optimize revenue and meet their specific needs, while also overseeing the client experience from initial turnover to post-event review. The role involves identifying and resolving operational challenges, leading pre- and post-event meetings, and managing group room blocks and meeting spaces. Adherence to all company standards, policies, and procedures is essential. This position also involves recognizing opportunities to upsell products and services to create enhanced event experiences and celebrating team successes.

Client and Sales Coordination

A key aspect of this role is acting as the primary point of contact for event planners following the turnover from sales. The Sr Mgr Events I will serve as the liaison between the field sales representative and the customer throughout the entire event process, from pre-event to post-event phases. This includes participating in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process as needed. The role also involves up-selling products and services throughout the event lifecycle.

Financial Management and Profitability

This position is responsible for managing the revenue and profitability associated with assigned events. This includes forecasting group sleeping room and event revenue, encompassing catering and audio-visual services. The Sr Mgr Events I will also review billing and payment details with clients to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

Customer Service and Guest Relations

Providing exceptional customer service is paramount. The Sr Mgr Events I will interact directly with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels, and will handle guest problems and complaints effectively. The role requires making a visible presence known to the customer throughout the event process and following up post-event. The individual will greet customers during the event phase, coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing regarding event details, and strive to improve service performance. Setting a positive example for guest relations and reviewing guest satisfaction results with associates are also key components of this role.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in event management or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major is acceptable with no prior work experience required.
