About the Event Manager Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts is seeking an Event Manager to join their team in Makkah, with responsibilities also extending to Jeddah. This full-time position focuses on managing complex events, ensuring seamless transitions between sales and service teams, and maximizing revenue opportunities through upselling and service enhancements. The role involves acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the event lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities

The Event Manager is responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with sales, property departments, and clients to deliver consistent, high-level service. This includes managing complex events, ensuring a smooth handover from sales to service and back, and identifying opportunities to enhance events and maximize revenue. The role also involves supporting the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence, serving as the primary on-property contact for event planners, and being accountable for their experience.

Event Execution and Client Management

  • Solving operational challenges and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Leading pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups.
  • Managing customer budgets to optimize revenue and meet client needs.
  • Overseeing the client experience from file turnover through the post-event phase.
  • Conducting pre- and post-event meetings to communicate group needs and feedback.
  • Managing group room blocks and meeting space.
  • Adhering to all company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Recognizing team member contributions and celebrating successes.

Sales and Profitability Management

  • Upselling products and services throughout the event process.
  • Participating in customer site inspections and assisting the sales process.
  • Acting as a liaison between field sales and the customer during all event phases.
  • Managing event revenue and profitability.
  • Forecasting group sleeping rooms and event revenue, including catering and audio-visual.
  • Reviewing billing and payments with clients.

Customer Service and Communication

  • Interacting with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service.
  • Handling guest problems and complaints effectively.
  • Maintaining a visible presence for clients throughout the event.
  • Following up with clients post-event.
  • Greeting clients during the event phase and coordinating with the Event Operations team.
  • Striving to improve service performance and setting a positive example for guest relations.
  • Reviewing guest satisfaction results with associates.
  • Communicating event details verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED along with 2 years of experience in event management or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major is acceptable with no prior work experience required. This role requires 0-1 years of experience.
