About the Role at Dar Jana International Schools
Dar Jana International Schools is seeking a Teacher for Lower Elementary Homeroom, focusing on Math, Sciences, and English. This full-time position is based in the Makkah Region, serving students in Jeddah and Makkah. The role is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience.
Core Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role involve the comprehensive planning and delivery of engaging lessons, effective classroom management, and diligent assessment of student progress. The teacher will be expected to follow established weekly plans provided by the coordinator and to develop unit and lesson plans that align with required skills and standards.
- Plan, prepare, and present lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities within the classroom.
- Develop detailed unit and lesson plans, outlining required skills, standards, learning objectives, and instructional procedures.
- Implement effective strategies for differentiating instruction to support all learners.
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction, utilizing tools such as Google Apps and Google Online Classroom.
- Scaffold student learning both inside and outside the classroom environment.
- Actively engage students in the learning process.
- Interact with students in a professional and supportive manner, providing constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback.
Classroom Management and Discipline
Maintaining a disciplined and orderly learning environment is crucial. The teacher will be responsible for upholding school rules and regulations concerning the disciplinary scheme. This includes managing student behavior effectively within the classroom and on school premises, and applying appropriate measures when misbehavior occurs.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring
A key aspect of the role involves the systematic assessment and evaluation of student learning. This includes preparing and maintaining the confidentiality of revision sheets and tests, as well as regularly marking student work and grading assessments.
- Prepare monthly and semester revision sheets and tests, ensuring their confidentiality.
- Mark homework and classwork, and grade quizzes and exams regularly and in a timely manner.
- Correct copybooks and homework on a daily basis.
- Prepare regular progress reports and evaluation sheets for students.
- Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development.
- Prepare and present informative reports regarding student performance.
Work Environment and Location
This is a full-time position located in the Makkah Region, serving students in both Jeddah and Makkah. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to the educational environment of Dar Jana International Schools.
