About the Role

Saudi German Health is seeking an Anesthesia Registrar for a full-time position in Khamis Mushayt, 'Asir. This role involves providing comprehensive anesthesia services and delivering high-quality patient care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients requiring anesthesia. The Anesthesia Registrar supports consultants in clinical activities, ensuring adherence to best medical practices, patient safety standards, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients preoperatively and determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
  • Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic investigations, establish diagnoses, and provide treatment within approved clinical privileges.
  • Administer anesthesia and related treatments according to professional standards and approved clinical guidelines.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring safety and optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Participate in inpatient rounds and provide ongoing assessment and management of assigned patients.
  • Assist consultants during complex procedures and provide anesthesia support as required.
  • Manage anesthesia clinics and patient consultations when assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records, including progress notes, medical reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in hospital emergency response activities.
  • Ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures, clinical pathways, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate patient care activities with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Obtain informed consent for anesthesia-related procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and ethical standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and patient safety programs.
  • Contribute to departmental and organizational committees when requested.
  • Uphold medical ethics, professional conduct, patient confidentiality, and cultural values.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Support the training and supervision of interns, residents, fellows, and other healthcare trainees.
  • Participate actively in continuing medical education, professional development programs, and departmental teaching activities.
  • Promote patient-centered care and enhance the overall patient experience through compassion, respect, and dignity.
  • Perform any additional duties related to the specialty as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution recognized by relevant medical authorities.
  • Successful completion of internship and residency training in Anesthesiology.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology or a related specialty.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience as an Anesthesiology Specialist in a tertiary care or equivalent healthcare setting.

Licensure and Certifications

  • Board Certification, Fellowship, Membership, or equivalent postgraduate credential in Anesthesiology.
  • Valid professional license and registration from the country of practice.
  • Eligibility for licensing by the relevant healthcare regulatory authorities.
