About the Director of Human Resources Role
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Human Resources for its property in Medina, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. This full-time position requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in human resources or management operations. The Director of Human Resources will report directly to the property General Manager, with a functional reporting relationship to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources, and will be a key member of the property's executive committee.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
This role contributes a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise to a designated property. The Director is accountable for talent acquisition, succession and workforce planning, performance management, and employee development. Key responsibilities include efficiently utilizing technology, coaching and developing staff to influence and execute business objectives, and developing processes to achieve objectives in alignment with broader business goals. The Director will utilize a Human Resource Business Plan aligned with property and brand strategies to deliver HR services that enable business success.
Key Duties and Tasks
- Managing the Human Resources Strategy, including executing engagement survey activities, championing talent management, and translating business priorities into HR strategies.
- Implementing and sustaining HR initiatives, coordinating human capital review processes, and leading succession planning activities.
- Assessing the property's leadership pipeline and managing succession and workforce planning.
- Serving as a key change manager for initiatives with high employee impact and attending owner meetings to present HR results and demonstrate understanding of owner priorities.
- Supervising on-property Human Resources staff and market-based Human Resources Specialist resources.
- Managing the Staffing and Recruitment Process, including analyzing open positions, facilitating selection and interviewing, identifying staffing optimization opportunities, and developing staffing strategies.
- Ensuring managers are competent in assessing and evaluating hourly staff.
- Managing Employee Compensation Strategy, staying current on compensation environments, leading hourly employee total compensation strategy planning, and championing the communication and use of compensation systems.
- Participating in internal equity analysis and creating/implementing total compensation management packages.
- Managing Staff Development Activities, ensuring HR staff responsibilities are met, and serving as a resource for employee relations questions.
Education and Experience Requirements
- A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major, plus 4 years of experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area.
- OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major, plus 2 years of experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area.
