About the Director of Human Resources Role
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Human Resources for its location in Medina, within the Central Area District. This is a full-time position where the incumbent will report directly to the Hotel General Manager and functionally to the Area Director, Human Resources. As a member of the hotel's executive committee, this role is integral to providing high standards of integrated and professional Human Resources knowledge to the designated hotel, supporting business objectives through effective talent management, staffing, performance, and training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for developing and executing Human Resources strategies aligned with hotel and brand objectives. This includes managing talent acquisition, staffing, and team composition, as well as overseeing performance management and staff training programs. The role requires developing processes to achieve broader business strategic goals with a high degree of independence and providing Human Resources services that promote business success.
- Executing and advancing loyalty initiatives.
- Establishing talent management teams to support hotel and area diversity strategies.
- Translating business priorities into hotel Human Resources strategies, plans, and actions.
- Implementing and maintaining Human Resources initiatives within the hotel.
- Coordinating Human Resources budget reviews and leading staffing plan activities.
- Evaluating leader and staff augmentation through Human Resources budget review processes.
- Creating value through proactive performance results or cost control methods.
- Supervising hotel managers and staff in the effective use of HR systems.
- Leading and participating in staffing management and team composition.
- Attending business committee meetings and interpreting Human Resources results in the context of business priorities.
- Supervising hotel Human Resources staff and market-based Human Resources specialist profiles.
- Analyzing vacancy gaps to balance talent development and business needs.
- Coordinating the selection and interview process for staff and specialists.
- Seeking opportunities for workflow and staff optimization.
- Making HR decisions and managing hotel talent executives and supplementary staff.
- Developing and implementing HR policies related to employment and negotiating salary and benefits.
- Supervising recruitment process and staff optimization results.
- Ensuring management staff can effectively evaluate and assess staff during the evaluation period.
- Leading the development of the overall compensation strategy for staff.
- Supporting the communication and appropriate use of the overall compensation system, tools, plans, and policies.
- Participating in quarterly internal equity analysis and handling resolution of related issues.
- Creating and implementing overall compensation management packages, including recognition and incentive plans.
- Ensuring Human Resources staff job responsibilities are met and that staff receive appropriate training.
- Serving as a resource for staff relations issues and continuously strengthening positive staff relations philosophy.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:
- A two-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university, plus 4 years of experience in Human Resources, Operations Management, or related field leadership.
- A four-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in Human Resources, Operations Management, or related field leadership.
