Field Operator

About the Role

International Water Distribution Company (Tawzea) is seeking a Field Operator to join their team in Medina. This full-time position involves performing routine field inspections and operational rounds within a wastewater treatment plant, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of various systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor pumps, blowers, screens, filters, tanks, valves, sludge handling systems, chemical dosing systems, and other process equipment.
• Accurately monitor and record field operating parameters, equipment conditions, and process observations.
• Identify and immediately report equipment failures, abnormal readings, leaks, unusual noise or vibration, process abnormalities, and unsafe conditions.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting of operational and equipment issues, identify possible causes, and take basic corrective actions within authorization.
• Start, stop, change over, and operate equipment in accordance with approved SOPs, operating instructions, and coordination with supervisors/SCADA.
• Perform routine operational adjustments of valves, gates, pumps, and other equipment as instructed and within authorized operating limits.
• Collect wastewater, sludge, treated effluent, and other process samples according to the approved sampling schedule and procedures.
• Perform authorized basic field measurements and observations where required.
• Maintain continuous communication and coordination with SCADA Operators, Shift Supervisors, Process Engineers, Laboratory, and Maintenance teams regarding plant conditions and abnormalities.
• Support equipment isolation, LOTO, maintenance preparation, functional testing, and return-to-service activities in accordance with approved procedures and authorization.
• Perform routine operational cleaning and maintain good housekeeping within assigned plant areas.
• Maintain accurate operating logs, checklists, and shift records, ensuring proper handover of equipment status, abnormalities, and outstanding activities to the incoming shift.
• Respond to alarms, equipment trips, and emergency situations in accordance with approved emergency procedures, and immediately communicate/escalate critical conditions.
• Comply with all HSE requirements, including PPE, LOTO, Permit-to-Work, chemical handling, confined-space, and other applicable site safety procedures.
• Report safety hazards, environmental incidents, spills, leaks, near misses, and other abnormal conditions immediately.
• Support efficient use of electricity, chemicals, water, and other operational resources, and report unnecessary consumption or losses.
• Perform any other duties or assignments related to the nature of the position as requested by the immediate supervisor or Operations Management.
