About UCC Holding and the Role
UCC Holding is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Medina, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to ensuring financial efficiency and value optimization across construction projects within the company's operations.
Role Overview
The Managing Quantity Surveyor is responsible for maximizing project margins and adding significant value to the construction process. This is achieved through proactive involvement in procurement strategies, diligent cost management, and comprehensive financial reporting. A core aspect of this role involves driving the best possible value from all suppliers and subcontractors engaged in projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including the forecasting of final costs and sales.
- Prepare and monitor project cashflow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
- Measure, value, submit, and negotiate contract variations effectively.
- Provide expert advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters, including the review and drafting of correspondence.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate project final accounts to completion.
- Conduct commercial vetting of sub-contractor tenders and contracts.
- Certify subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts accurately.
- Ensure that all business commercial processes are strictly adhered to at the project level.
- Assist in the preparation and adherence to project purchasing targeting and costing budgets.
- Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with the established business timetable.
- Support the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 15 years of overall working experience, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying.
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- A Professional Qualification is required.
- Experience of 5 years in the GCC region is considered a significant advantage.
Work Environment and Type
This is a full-time position based in Medina, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a dynamic project environment, requiring close collaboration with project teams and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
