Overview of the IVF Nurse Role

Fakeeh Care Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate IVF Nurse to join our specialized team in Medina, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for professionals with 0-1 years of experience who are committed to providing exceptional care and support to patients undergoing fertility treatments. The IVF Nurse will play a vital role in guiding patients through various stages of the IVF process, ensuring comfort, education, and adherence to clinical protocols.

Core Clinical Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for IVF procedures, including monitoring and assisting with ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer.
• Administer prescribed medications, such as hormone injections, oral medications, and other fertility treatments, and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions.
• Conduct regular assessments of patients’ health status, including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment.
• Assist during IVF procedures, such as egg retrieval and embryo transfer, ensuring protocols are followed and patient comfort is maintained.
• Provide technical support during laboratory procedures, including preparing specimens and handling samples.

Patient Education and Support

• Educate patients and their families about the IVF process, including pre-procedure preparations, post-procedure care, potential outcomes, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Provide guidance on managing medication regimens, recognizing side effects, and understanding laboratory results.
• Offer emotional support to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or anxieties related to fertility treatments and procedures.
• Facilitate clear communication between patients and the IVF team to ensure a thorough understanding of treatment plans and expectations.

Documentation and Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting treatment plans, medication administration, procedural outcomes, complications, patient interactions, and follow-up care instructions.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for consultations, procedures, and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, and lab technicians to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Facilitate the patient admission and discharge process.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• A valid nursing license from the country of origin.
• A license to practice as per the regional health regulatory authority (*, SCFHS / DHA).
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and other relevant LSTC courses as applicable.
• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant healthcare setting.

Professional Standards and Development

• Adhere to strict infection control procedures to ensure a sterile environment for IVF procedures and patient safety.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of medications and biological samples.
• Comply with all regulatory and ethical standards related to fertility treatments and patient confidentiality.
• Participate in ongoing education and training related to reproductive health and IVF technologies, staying current with advancements in fertility treatments and nursing practices.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the IVF unit, including assessing and enhancing patient care practices.
