Oncology Nurse

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Medina is seeking an Oncology Nurse for a full-time position. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process, and adhering to established standards of nursing practice and performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership competencies, particularly when acting as a shift resource or team leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care as assigned, in accordance with core standards and established policies.
• Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning.
• Contribute to reducing patient length of stay and waiting times, collaborating with Case Management to achieve unit-specific goals.
• Document all relevant patient information accurately, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and supply inventory reductions to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve continuous improvement in patient care quality, acting as an advocate for patients and families.
• Promote a safe environment and patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying risks to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Contribute to cost efficiency savings on the unit and maintain awareness of resource utilization.
• Participate in achieving clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction, leading unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
• Assist in new staff and nursing student orientation, acting as a preceptor/mentor to develop competence.
• Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice and participate in patient education programs.
• Contribute to special projects and assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and professional practice models.
• Promote and share knowledge through mentorship, aligning with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
• Adhere to all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in self and others' education, training, and development.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive nursing care.
• Proficiency in utilizing the nursing process and meeting established standards of nursing practice.
• Strong leadership competencies, particularly in charge or team leader roles.

This full-time position is based at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Al Madinah (Medina). The role involves working within a collaborative healthcare environment focused on patient care and continuous improvement.
