Commissioning Senior Engineer Electrical

About the Role

Elsewedy Electric Power Systems Projects is seeking a Commissioning Senior Engineer Electrical to join their team in Makkah, with work locations including Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on the execution of commissioning activities for electrical systems within EPC projects.

Role Purpose

The Senior Commissioning Engineer – Electrical is responsible for translating conceptual designs (FEED packages) into project execution. This includes ensuring adherence to project specifications, standards, and process philosophy. The role involves preparing and executing commissioning activities, such as inspections, functional testing, validation, reporting, and documentation, while also contributing to lessons learned and upholding quality and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop project-specific inspection checklists and test procedures using the master commissioning library.
• Submit red-line drawings upon completion of system commissioning.
• Maintain commissioning documents within the Document Management System (DMS).
• Test electrical systems and equipment using testing devices according to documented procedures and National Standards to ensure compatibility and safety.
• Verify system functionality, compatibility, and safety.
• Align commissioning schedules with the overall project plan and milestones.
• Report daily manpower and testing tools utilized for each activity.
• Arrange a weekly time schedule for personal commissioning activities.
• Participate in commissioning and start-up activities.
• Ensure the FEED philosophy is maintained throughout the execution phase.
• Adhere to HSE standards during commissioning and testing, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Solid background and expertise in EPC Projects, specifically within Power Plants, Substations, and/or Infrastructure type Projects.

• Experience with the following electrical components:

  • Power transformers
  • Generators, Reactors
  • GCB, IPB
  • GIS equipment
  • MV, LV SWGR
  • DC, UPS systems
  • MV, LV EDG

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, with work conducted in cities such as Jeddah and Makkah.
