About the Role of Demi Chef de Partie

Marriott International is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie to join their team in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves preparing a variety of dishes, managing kitchen equipment temperatures, and ensuring food quality and presentation standards are consistently met. The role requires a professional approach to food preparation and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or alternative dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Regulate and monitor the temperature of ovens, grills, and roasting ovens.
• Thaw frozen food safely in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portions, presentation, and garnishes for all prepared food items.
• Maintain accurate food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Indicate when assistance is required during busy periods to maintain service efficiency.
• Inform the chef of surplus food products that can be utilized in daily specials.
• Communicate removed items and menu specials to Food and Beverage service staff.
• Prepare and cook food in adherence to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold food items as required.
• Assist management with hiring, training, planning, evaluation, motivation, and coaching of employees, serving as a role model.
• Follow and apply all safety policies and procedures, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and dangerous working conditions.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, preserve confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Anticipate and address customer service needs, using clear and courteous language in all communications.
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with peers, collaborating to achieve common goals.
• Ensure compliance with all quality requirements and standards.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: A technical, trade, or professional school diploma is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related work experience is essential for this role.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are mandated.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Demi Chef de Partie will operate in a dynamic kitchen environment. The role requires the ability to work standing, sitting, and moving for extended periods. Physical tasks include reaching objects overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds (* kg) without assistance.
