About the Role

Eram Talent is seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to join our team in Makkah, specifically covering Thuwal and Makkah cities. This full-time role involves delivering technical fire and life safety engineering activities under the direction of the Fire Safety Engineering Lead.

Role Context and Purpose

The Fire Safety Engineer supports the delegated Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) governance framework. This includes conducting technical reviews, field assessments, inspections, compliance verification, fire risk assessments, and technical investigations within approved procedures and delegated authorities. The role also involves preparing technical recommendations for review and approval by the Lead, Fire Safety Engineer, and the Health and Safety Manager, as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fire and life safety engineering reviews, inspections, assessments, and field verifications.
  • Review new construction, renovations, fire protection systems, and high-hazard facilities.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Civil Defense, NFPA, IFC, and applicable fire safety requirements.
  • Support inspection, testing, maintenance, commissioning, and verification of fire protection systems.
  • Review systems including fire alarms, water-based and special suppression, smoke control, passive fire protection, fire doors, barriers, and means of egress.
  • Investigate fire incidents, system failures, unwanted alarms, and other fire and life safety issues.
  • Coordinate with projects, facilities, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Compliance and Risk Management

The Fire Safety Engineer supports compliance with Saudi Civil Defense requirements, Saudi Building Code (SBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and International Fire Code (IFC). This includes maintaining audit-ready evidence, verifying fire protection system performance, supporting Civil Defense-related documentation and inspections where applicable, and escalating significant fire and life safety risks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in fire safety engineering.
