About the Role

Nadir Ali Shah HR Consultants is seeking a Group Financial Controller for a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This role is critical for a large diversified group, requiring 5-10 years of experience. The Group Financial Controller will oversee corporate accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, cash flow management, taxation, budgeting, and financial control across multiple entities with diverse business operations. This position involves leading a team of finance professionals while maintaining a hands-on approach to ensure accurate and timely financial information, strong internal controls, and IFRS compliance.

Key Responsibilities and Financial Oversight

  • Lead and manage the Corporate Accounting function, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely ledger maintenance across Group entities.
  • Oversee the implementation of appropriate accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting processes.
  • Lead the preparation of consolidated Group financial statements in accordance with IFRS and manage all consolidated financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage the Group's cash flow within available banking facilities, including preparing forecasts, liquidity reports, and monitoring working capital.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, develop rolling forecasts, and prepare 3–5 year financial projections and business plans.
  • Evaluate capital investment proposals and business opportunities, conducting financial feasibility assessments using NPV, IRR, Payback Period, and ROI.

Compliance, Risk Management, and Strategic Support

  • Manage relationships with external/statutory auditors, coordinate the annual audit process, and ensure timely finalization of financial statements.
  • Oversee the Group's statutory tax and regulatory obligations, ensuring timely preparation and filing of Zakat, VAT, Withholding Tax, Customs Duty, and other applicable returns.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi tax and Zakat regulations, monitoring changes and assessing their impact on the Group.
  • Identify, assess, and report significant financial and operational risks to the Group CFO.
  • Develop and strengthen internal financial controls, ensuring appropriate segregation of duties and financial authorization controls.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Finance Managers, Accountants, and support staff, establishing clear objectives and performance expectations.
  • Build strong working relationships with business unit leaders and senior management, understanding their financial information requirements.
  • Communicate financial matters effectively to non-finance stakeholders and collaborate with various departments including Finance, Audit, Tax, and Operations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong experience in a Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller, or Group Finance Manager capacity.
  • Significant experience working within large diversified groups, with a preference for experience in Real Estate, Retail, Manufacturing, or similarly complex multi-entity businesses.
  • Practical, hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and filing Zakat, VAT, Withholding Tax, and other applicable Saudi tax returns.
  • Experience managing statutory audits and working effectively with external auditors.
  • Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm at a managerial level is highly preferred.
